Rogers and Lazenbys in Gatlinburg

Anne, Zack, Jane and Tom went to Gatlinburg for a little weekend getaway. This is the first time in about 10 years that they have been. It brought back many memories of past New Years when they used to go with their families.

Addy's trip to the Galleria

Anne and Zack were keeping Addy for the day last Saturday and were going to bring her by for a visit but I was coming down with my cold and didn't want to risk her getting sick so we met them at the Galleria for a little visit in the food court. She was fascinated by all the lights, sounds and people. We had a nice time but I didn't get to hold her this time. Hopefully I will see her again soon!

Socks for Heston

I made some socks for the babies this winter while I was making the hats. They were a bit big but looks like Heston has grown into his now. I`ll have to make some more soon since he is growing so fast.

My cold is better today and I`m going to meet some friends for lunch. This is a group of ladies who use to meet regularly to celebrate our birthdays. It has been a long time since we got together so this will be a fun time to catch up. Linda`s sister, Faye, is going to be helping me out some and this is her first day home with Papa. I`m sure they will do fine.

Colds in January are no fun!!

Just as the new year is starting, all is settling down, decorations are up, house is clean and picked up.................. I get sick!! I have a terrible cold and am trying to nurse it before it gets worse. Looks like it will be soup for a few days because I can`t taste anything.

Before I came down with this cold, I was able to do some visiting with friends and family with phone calls. I enjoyed talking to the Phillips in Orlando. I caught up with Cathy, Tricia and Dian. Wish we were closer so we could visit more but since we are not, phone calls are great. One by one, I was able to call some dear, old friends before Christmas and talk to them. Emails are a good way to keep up but there is still nothing like a phone call to talk one on one with someone special.

Changes come whether we are ready or not. Our dear friend, Linda, has moved away to be with her daughter and grandson. I am glad for her but we will miss her and all she has meant to our family these last 5 or 6 years. She was a life saver when Mother was here. She was the best care giver we could have had and we will all miss her. We wish her the best!

I had lunch with Jewel Faulkner last week and it brought back many memories. It was so good to see her. She was the kindergarten teacher for both girls and Billy. I worked there with her when she had them in her class. She is a sweet, sweet friend. We talked for hours after lunch until it was time for me to go get Papa. I hope to do that again soon.

I am going to get some rest these next days and get rid of this cold. I`ll check back soon. Have a good week!!
